Primary Eyecare                  

At Rio Eyecare, primary eyecare  includes a vision analysis and 12 point eye health evaluation.  This examination is designed to detect a wide range of problems affecting your eye sight, including  blurred vision, eye discomfort, and ocular pathology.

Evaluations for eye health disorders are  performed with state-of-the-art diagnostic instruments.  We recommend all of our patients be checked on an annual basis to maintain the best possible vision as well as healthy eyes.  Some conditions require more frequent evaluations.  Drs. Planitz and Clatanoff will be sure to recommend the appropriate examination schedule for you.

At Rio Eyecare,  we incorporate computerized technology to assist in the evaluation of spectacle prescriptions, peripheral vision, intraocular pressure, and eye health. Computerized examination instruments are used to supplement rather than replace personalized care. Examinations include tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and the ocular effects of many general health disorders such as diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as effects of medications. Drs. Planitz and Clatanoff also prescribe the Optomap retinal scan to provide the most comprehensive view of the health inside of your eyes.  Optomap is recommended on an annual basis.
